Ariana Grande is used to being under a microscope. The Vogue cover star is one of the world’s biggest pop stars, and through her soul-baring music, often lets us all in on her emotions, her thoughts, and her relationships.
In the Vogue video for “In My Head,” one of the most revealing, intimate songs from her February release Thank U, Next, Grande takes this confessional tendency literally, as she dances, shoulder-pops, poses, and struts around inside the white room of her own mind. Alone onscreen and without any elaborate scenery, director Bardia Zeinali captures the creative claustrophobia of being Ariana Grande. “My imagination’s too creative,” she sings in a pair of her signature thigh-highs.
