Once upon a time, Meghan Markle wrote an ode to New York City.

“The memories of filming the pilot for Suits, the fast frenetic energy only lulled by my morning jog through Central Park, the quintessential Manhattan bravado, the elderly ladies who lunch at Bergdorfs (draped in diamonds, nursing their martinis, watching the day go by against the backdrop of Kelly Wearstler papered walls)—these are a few of the reasons I love New York,’ she said on her now-defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig. “But it’s the food . . . fantastic, crave-worthy food, that keeps me wrapped around its little finger.”

Judging by her most recent trip to New York, that last line still rings true.

While in town for her baby shower, the Duchess of Sussex was spotted at a number of famous restaurants.

The first? Ladurée in Soho. The patisserie is known for its macarons in every color of the rainbow, as well as its trompe l'oeil ceiling. The duchess allegedly enjoyed some of its signature confections, along with tea, in a private room.

The next day, it was off to Flora Bar, chef Ignacio Mattos’s restaurant at the Met Breuer, for lunch. Known for its small plates—the tuna tartare is a must—the space includes floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the museum’s courtyard. Unfortunately, the duchess’s time there was short-lived—reportedly due to privacy concerns, she left several minutes after arriving.

Then it was off to the Surrey Hotel to dine at Café Boulud. The Michelin-starred restaurant is best known for its French cuisine but also serves up globally inspired dishes like lamb rogan josh and tamarind red snapper. A bonus for the duchess, who is said to eat vegan during the week? Its vegetable-heavy le potager offerings, like chestnut velouté.

The duchess stayed at the Mark Hotel, which houses a Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant. No word if she stopped by, however Page Six reports that the celebrity chef may provide a dessert spread for her baby shower.

Tuesday night, Markle, Serena Williams, Jessica Mulroney, Misha Nonoo, and Suits costar Abigail Spencer were spotted at the Polo Bar. The swanky restaurant, owned by Ralph Lauren, is equally known for its elevated American fare as its old-school, equestrian-inspired interior—think saddle leather, wood paneling, and landscape paintings.

With her royal tour of Morocco on the horizon, the duchess’s return to London is likely imminent. But it certainly sounds like she got her New York foodie fix.
