Ashley Graham can make almost any outfit alluring, but the curvaceous supermodel’s fashion expertise extends beyond sex appeal. Stepping out last night to co-host the Whitney Museum’s annual Art Party, Graham gave onlookers a masterclass on how to add visual interest to an all-black look. Wearing a corset skirt and sequined top from Markarian Collection beneath a coordinating fur jacket, Graham was glamorous yet understated. Mixing textures with each piece, the contrast between the glossy gasoline effect leather of her skirt and the sparkle of her top made for a unique take on a hue that has become eveningwear’s standard. Polishing things off with the addition of Eva Fehren jewelry and a navy clutch, Graham was the night’s showstopper.
Graham and her stylists, Meredith Melling, Valerie Macaulay, and Jordan Foster of La Marque have been smart about updating her look and sticking to a singular color statement — crimson for the Women of the Year Awards, pure white for Forevermark’s anniversary party — has been part of the progression. And by providing an elegant update on the LBD concept, Graham gives her fans plenty of wardrobe inspiration.
