The Best Street Style Beauty From Paris Fashion Week

Whether offering up earthy charm (Chanel’s autumnal forest set) or futuristic edge (Louis Vuitton’s indoor spaceship), this week’s runway shows in Paris spoke to the soul—and the same could be said for the fashion scene outside on the city streets, where stylish insiders showcased inspired hair and makeup looks.

Next-level braids were a mainstay, with editor Candace Marie’s waist-grazing multi-color plaits and Selah Marley’s gravity-defying updo, magically hovering over a generous swipe of gothic lipstick, topping the list. Softer real-world adaptations of Alexander McQueen’s hip-grazing dominatrix braid played out in stylist Alexandra Carl’s strawberry blonde version and Susie Lau’s sideswept plait en route to Balmain. Meanwhile, the boyish haircuts of the season made multifaceted appearances, too, like the sight of Yasmin Sewell’s textured pixie above her pinstriped camel duster, or Cara Delevingne’s piecey bangs and feathered lashes peeking out from her black Dior cap.

A surprise sensation, the choppy shag wigs from Haider Ackermann’s Technicolor catwalk were an off-duty model favorite, turning Teddy Quinlivan’s black silk column into a dark wave evening option, while Nina Marker and Marine Deleeuw, each wrapped in black puffers, enjoyed the anonymity the subversive, spiky mullets offered after the show.

But perhaps nothing made its mark quite like the striking power of pairs, with twins Ami and Aya Suzuki leading the charge (as well as the undeniable red lipstick movement) by syncing up pink bobs and crimson pouts with head-to-toe ruby lace dresses and tights. Fashion buyer Baby Mary Faline and DJ Mademoiselle Yulia sported equally electric mouths outside of Rochas, while flame-haired beauties Kiki Willems and Rianne van Rompaey shared easy laughs and looks in center-parted ponytails after Valentino. Because what better way to say au revoir to a whirlwind fashion month than with a friend?
