Nothing screams summer like a long, cool dip. And the dreamiest of the country’s vacation spots all have one thing in common—a killer pool. From urban-sleek hotels in Brooklyn and Baltimore to luxe desert resorts in Arizona and Palm Springs, we’ve rounded up the most lounge-ready (and Instagram-worthy) of them all. Just add SPF.

Dumbo House, Brooklyn, New York

Soho House has just opened its much-anticipated Brooklyn outpost, Dumbo House, a new location off of Brooklyn Bridge Park. Members (or lucky plus ones) will enjoy a rooftop pool furnished with plush, poolside chaise loungers, and a garden terrace. But most exciting is the view: a mostly unobstructed panorama of downtown Manhattan, framed by the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges.

Enchantment Resort, Sedona, Arizona

Dramatically set on a 70-acre resort surrounded by sensational red rock formations, the 360-degree Red Rock landscape that surrounds Enchantment's aqua blue pool is not to be glossed over. Recently revamped, the pool and patio were doubled in size and elevated three meters (the better to sightsee), and designed to blend into the natural surroundings. The main pool area also features a seasonal pool bar that offers cocktails and light fare.

Bar d'Eau at The Dominick

Bar d’Eau, New York, New York

Located on the Dominick Hotel's seventh-floor spa deck, this rooftop lounge features a mosaic-tiled pool complete with a four-foot-high waterfall. Elsewhere, you'll find private cabanas, al fresco cocktails, and snacks like avocado toast.

Ace Hotel New Orleans, New Orleans, Louisiana
Looking to take it real easy in the Big Easy? Head to Alto, Ace Hotel New Orleans’s rooftop garden and popular Crescent City hangout. There, you can kick back poolside by day and sip cocktails under twinkle lights once the sun sets.

The Sagamore Resort, Bolton Landing, New York

Set on a 70-acre island in upstate New York, the Sagamore's 95,000-gallon infinity pool offers commanding panoramic views of Lake George. After a swim, soak up the sun on a comfortable lounge chair and take in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains.

The roof deck at Dumbo’s eco-minded 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge offers 3,475 square feet of city salvation. The space consists of The 1 Rooftop bar, multiple lounge areas, and—best of all—a geometric, aquamarine-tinted pool (set to officially debut later this month) that overlooks the East River.

ARRIVE Palm Springs, Palm Springs, California

Palm Springs destination ARRIVE specializes in unconventionality (there’s no front desk; instead, guests check in at the bar). The hotel also stresses community, a fact best exemplified by its pool area, where guests and locals alike sunbathe, use free WiFi ,and sip on Customs Coffee, which sources beans from a small-batch local roaster.

The Adolphus HotelJames Nathan Schroder

The Adolphus, Dallas, Texas

Swim in a pool seven stories high, surrounded by Dallas's beautiful skyline at The Adolphus. Overlooking Downtown Dallas, this rooftop pool is surrounded by private cabanas and luxury amenities. Guests can enjoy a selection of cocktails by the cozy fire, or dine al fresco on the pool menu.

Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club, Surfside, Florida

Founded in 1930, The Surf Club was originally an ultra-glamorous—and uber-exclusive—members-only operation frequented by Elizabeth Taylor and visited by Winston Churchill. The Miami property was reborn earlier this month under the Four Seasons banner and now features not one, but three distinct pools. There’s the Quiet Pool for relaxing, the livelier Family Pool, and finally, the Cabana Pool with air conditioned, bathroom-equipped cabanas. Complimentary poolside services, like sunglasses cleaning, are offered at all locations.

Ojai Rancho Inn, Ojai, California

This roadside inn retains its 1950s motel-style aesthetic with a spacious pool and lawn area out back. After you bike to and from downtown Ojai on the Inn’s bikes, grab a beer at the Chief’s Peak bar, then take a dip in the pool. During the summer, live music plays poolside at a number of events that both locals and visitors attend (check their Instagram for upcoming shows).

With a pool deck that spans over 40,000 square feet, guests will find the Foxtail Pool at the SLS Las Vegas to be a perfect haven in the desert. In addition to sipping on cocktails at the bar (located at the center of the pool), party patrons can enjoy concerts and more of the hotel’s programming.

You can now add buzzy pool scene to Hotel Saint George’s fast-growing list of amenities. The understated Marfa destination—which houses a Marfa Book Co. outpost and over 300 works of art—is home to the Bar Nadar Pool + Grill, an expansive pool, bar, and restaurant complex complete with a Donald Judd-designed picnic table.

Profundo Pool Club

Profundo Day Club, Long Island City, New York

This aquatic sanctuary in the heart of Long Island City has only one rule: that you dress pool chic. The year-old Profundo Pool Club is located on the third-floor rooftop of the Ravel Hotel's new 10-story expansion at 8-08 Queens Plaza South, where swimmers can cool off in the 50-by-20 foot pool and lounge on "Bali-inspired" daybeds.

Mountain Shadows, Paradise Valley, Arizona

Once a desert playground for Burt Reynolds and the Rat Pack, the Phoenix region’s Mountain Shadows Resort was recently rebuilt from the ground up. Among the property’s movie star-worthy niceties are two 75-foot long pools, which are connected by an over-water walkway and flanked by eight cabanas and an organic juice bar.

The Robey, Chicago, Illinois

We’re tickled by the concept of a rooftop pool in the heart of the Windy City. And that’s just the reaction the folks behind The Robey Chicago had in mind when they snubbed skeptics and debuted their triangle-shaped design. The swim area is part of the Cabana Club, which (like the rest of the heritage-inspired hotel) was dreamed up by Belgian firms Nicolas Schuybroek Architects and Marc Merckx Interiors.

Sagamore Pendry Baltimore, Baltimore, Maryland

It’s fitting that the nautically-inspired Sagamore Pendry Baltimore—a 128-room luxury property in the city’s historic Fells Point neighborhood—boasts a stunning pool. Perched at the end of Recreational Pier, the expansive open-air deck appears as if suspended above water and features panoramic views of Charm City’s historic Inner Harbor.

Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, Beverly Hills, California

With its glimmering rectangular pool, menu curated by Jean-George Vongerichten, and cream-colored and Jordan almond-colored lounge furniture, the rooftop scene at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills is a lesson in 90210-style luxury.
