The onslaught of rain and snow may have the world reaching for their galoshes, but not Rihanna. The pop superstar never lets anything stand in the way of her fashion whims, and last night in Manhattan she put her brilliant counterintuitive style smarts on
display, stepping out a strappy sandal. She braved the rain while out for dinner in SoHo wearing a chic monochromatic look that conjured thoughts of summer. Her bold-shouldered Y/Project blazer, cream slip dress, and miniature Fendi bag were all beautiful, though the most attention-grabbing element of her outfit was undoubtedly those dainty silver Manolo Blahnik Paloma heels.
With New York currently in the middle of a deep freeze, Rihanna’s sandals were hardly practical, and yet they did add a touch of whimsy to her ensemble. Snow shoes and rain boots are nice, but when you’re only making the journey from private car to exclusive eatery, there’s no need to be bundled up. Plus, some shoes are just worth the chill.
