Amid a sea of Gucci fanny packs and Staud buckets on the street style circuit this season, one carryall has stood out from the rest: the cityscape-printed Souvenir sac from Milanese designer Luisa Cevese Riedizioni. Equipped with short handles, an inside pocket, and a detachable strap, the bags are handmade using vintage silk scarves that are coated with a translucent (and waterproof!) finish.

And while a limited run are available for purchase at vintage shop Cavalli e Nastri, a favorite with fashion editors everywhere, starting this month, Riedizioni will be collecting the personal carrés of her customers and transforming them into one-of-a-kind creations. “Many of us have beautiful scarves inherited from our mothers and grandmothers that we do not actually use,” explains Riedizioni. “With these bags, we give the scarves a new life”—one that’s poised to land smack-dab in the middle of Phil Oh’s lens. In other words, you can say arrivederci to the pizza-shaped key chains and Italian flag magnets at the gift shop; there’s a new souvenir worth hanging onto.
