This Was the Best Onstage Style From Glastonbury 2017

This year’s Glastonbury had its fair share of inspiring moments, from Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn’s rallying speech on human rights and nonviolent resistance to Chic’s Nile Rodgers revealing his cancer-free status onstage. While these announcements could have easily diverted attention away from the performers, some of the biggest acts wore pieces so strong that they were impossible to ignore. In fact this weekend saw England’s Worthy Farm flooded with fashion that ranged from pure sophistication to throwback bohemian ensembles that stayed true to the festival’s free-spirited roots.

Solange’s textured monochrome was certainly one highlight. She tucked her pleated cherry red mock turtleneck into glossy pants and found the perfect balance between unity and dissonance. The Haim sisters looked coordinated yet distinct in their colorful prints and matching pink eyeshadow: Alana’s printed azure silk set, Este’s celestial black blouse, and Danielle’s summery floral top, which softened the rocker-chic vibe of her lustrous black pants.

Lorde also went with flowers this year, wearing a sparkly belted jumpsuit covered with little pink buds, while rapper Mykki Blanco’s look felt like a dramatic contrast to the relatively subdued style seen elsewhere. Blanco mined England’s sartorial past with a light pink ruffled dress reminiscent of a Victorian-era gown (complete with a pink flower in Blanco’s wig). From Solange’s minimalism to Mykki’s exaggerated take on historical opulence, here is the best onstage style from Glastonbury 2017.
