Saint Laurent, Slime, and Sweets! Vogue Spends 24 Hours With Alessandra Ambrosio

Last month, Vogue followed around the Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio during a jam-packed day in New York City. On the roster? The unveiling of her very own wax figure at the Madame Tussauds museum as well as spending some downtime with her son, Noah.

To kickstart the day, Ambrosio allowed the film crews to sit in on her glam session, where her longtime team got to work. Makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez—“she knows me since I was 17,” said Ambrosio—focused on the makeup, while hairstylist Dominick Pucciarello conjured up an effortless hairdo. “He’s my neighbor and I’ve known him forever, too,” the model said. “If he wasn’t here, I would just put it in a bun. I need a lot of help.” Then, a special guest arrived in her hotel room: her son, Noah, who immediately dug into some room service pancakes and the toys that Madame Tussauds sent over for him.

Once Ambrosio was ready, it was then time to slip into her look for the wax-figure unveiling: a ruffled, one-shouldered Saint Laurent dress with a sexy miniskirt hemline. It was the perfect statement piece to tie into her fashion-focused figure at the museum. “What’s fun with the museum is they have this fashion experience. I did all of these fun videos, where I taught people how to walk on the runway,” she said. “The number one tip is confidence. And good posture always helps.” Then, the mother and son jetted over to the museum, where she saw her wax figure for the first time. “It’s scary-amazing. It’s so intense the look she gives,” she laughed.
