Brace yourselves: Worldwide K-pop sensation BTS will be performing on Saturday Night Live in April. (Other guests include Kit Harington and Sara Bareilles.) The news sent legions of the globe’s BTS Army into digital conniptions over the announcement, and it’s a big deal. The boys are the first K-pop band to perform on the show. So when is it all happening?
BTS on Saturday Night Live is happening on April 13, and the host of that night’s live episode will be Emma Stone. Unclear if Stone is a fan of BTS specifically, but signs point to yes, given that she’s said she is “obsessed” with K-pop, telling Conan O‘Brien, “It’s a global phenomenon. It’s beyond excellent. It’s the best thing you’ve ever seen.” She said at the time that she was a fan of groups 2NE1 and Girls’ Generation.
We probably don’t need to remind you that BTS has had a huge year: collaborating with Nicki Minaj, performing at the Grammys, and being responsible for the [top Instagram fandom],(https://www.vogue.com/article/instagram-trend-data-bts-most-popular-fandom), members of which, of course, went wild at the news (who didn’t?!).
