Dua Lipa knows how to make a glam red carpet appearance. While the British singer-songwriter opts for sharp suits for her performances (as she did with a cherry red Versace number recently on the Graham Norton Show) or even a monochromatic set in her day-to-day life (like the sheer Adam Selman ensemble she just stepped out in), when it comes to awards shows, she seems to have a predilection for ultra glam, glossy gowns. She wore a bronze cellophane-style dress to a Brit Awards after-party earlier this year, which she cheekily said resembled the wrapper of her favorite British candy: a Quality street toffee chocolate finger.

Lipa made yet another grand red carpet appearance, this time in a lustrous, ’80s-inspired, plunging purple dress at the Billboard Music Awards. The long-sleeved gown featured puffy sleeves, and it cinched at the waist with an oversize bow. Lipa finished it all off with a massive emerald green and white Bvlgari pendant and Spinelli Kilcollin rings. The artist is set to perform her song “Homesick” at the awards this year, and while she’ll likely change into another outfit to perform in, it will be hard to top this shimmering violet gown—she’s clearly mastered the carpet.
