At home in Calabasas, California, Khloé Kardashian is prepping for a busy day of filming Keeping Up With the Kardashians. With French-manicured tips and platinum waves flowing down her 5’10” frame, the new mom is getting ready in her glamorous master bath. The room was once an epic sneaker closet belonging to the home’s previous owner, Justin Bieber, but Kardashian has made it into her own fantasy space, decorated with magenta-hued Q-tips and black-and-white portraits of Marilyn Monroe.

With one-year-old daughter True Thompson fluttering around the airy space, Kardashian begins her skin care with a mattifying witch hazel toner and a hefty dose of SPF, careful to take the application down to her neck and chest. For her BB cream, Kardashian makes her own concoction: one part moisturizer, one part foundation stick. “Since becoming a mom, this is what I do,” Kardashian laughs, describing her routine of getting ready while taking care of True. “I had to learn how to do makeup really quickly, and not do too many wet things. Because if it’s wet and I have to run after her, it’s going to set really weird and then I’m going to look super blotchy.”

Next up, Kardashian applies concealer under her eyes, courtesy of sister Kim’s cult cover-all product. “I’m just in awe of all their techniques,” she remarks about her family’s skills. “Whenever Kylie does a makeup tutorial...I’m so captivated.” Then comes a little baking and contouring, two things that are practically part of this clan’s DNA. Growing up, Kardashian says, “I would take tips and tricks from my sisters.” (Both Kourtney and Kim were enrolled in a makeup class as teenagers.)

For eyes that stand out on camera (the family films their show six days a week, after all) Kardashian applies her new shadow palette, a collaboration—her third—with Kylie Cosmetics. “It was so fun working with her,” she says of beauty-mogul sister Kylie. “We both respect each other.” The palette’s shade names are centered around True, who Kardashian explains was named for her grandfather and great grandfather. “I love that there’s family history, there’s a story behind it,” she says.

After a quick coffee break, lashes get the bombshell treatment as the new mom confesses that she “will not leave the house without mascara.” Then it’s brows, bronzer, and blush—plus a second coat of mascara. And to wipe off those pesky flakes that always seem to always land on eyelids? Grab a clean spoolie once the marks are dry and flick them away.

“Who doesn’t like glitter and sparkly things?” Kardashian argues while brushing highlighter on her cheeks and collarbones. “I think this is really sexy, when you have this glow.” For the finale, Kardashian fills out her pout with a lip liner and pats on some clear gloss. Her everyday routine is ready for primetime.
