You Can Thank Zana Bayne for the Most Fashionable Fidget Spinner Around

Zana Bayne Makes a Leather Fidget Spinner

This summer’s hottest accessory isn’t a sandal or a tote, but a toy. The fidget spinner, devised by Florida inventor Catherine Hettinger in 1993 and now a patent-free phenom, first charmed children before becoming a must-have for those of us that identify as kids at heart. The problem? The toys are typically made with colored plastic and probably not the chicest thing to keep in your purse. Zana Bayne has a solution: a studded leather fidget spinner that arrived in her e-store earlier this week.

“Our atelier team loves playing with spinners, and so at first it was a thought that we should create leather spinners for them. The spinners are already an aesthetic toy with an attractive shape, so it just made sense to make it happen. After the first ones were finished, we posted an image and video on Instagram; the reaction was immediate,” Bayne and her partner, Todd Pendu, told Vogue. “We like to think everything looks better in leather.”

Their version comes in black leather or vegetable-tanned beige leather, with silver studs around the perimeter. At $75, it’s a touch more expensive than your typical toy, but we’d say it’s worth the investment, for not only the compliments but also the zen state of mind.
