What’s worth waking at 5:00 a.m. for? Golden Globe nominees, of course! Early this morning in Los Angeles, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association revealed the nominees for the 76th annual Golden Globes, announced by Terry Crews, Danai Gurira, Leslie Mann, and Christian Slater. The awards themselves will take place on January 6, 2019, at 8:00 p.m. EST—and will be hosted (to our delight) by Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg. (Can the show possibly top this year’s Emmy proposal?)

The HFPA also announced a new award: the television equivalent of the Cecil B. DeMille Award, which recognizes outstanding achievement in entertainment and tends to be film-oriented. (Last year’s winner was Oprah.)

Several films and new television shows received pre–awards season buzz, including Black Panther, A Star Is Born, Crazy Rich Asians, BlacKkKlansman, First Man, Killing Eve, Sharp Objects, and Homecoming. But there are always a few snubs, head-scratchers, and upsets thrown into the mix: What about quirky coming-of-age film Eighth Grade? Will Timothée Chalamet, the Internet’s boyfriend and last year’s awards-season darling, be recognized again for Beautiful Boy? Lady Gaga or Bradley Cooper, or both?! Check out the full list of Golden Globe nominations below:
