Celebrity couples matching their outfits, whether that's coordinating colors or complimentary proportions, is nothing new. This week alone, there’s already been a “Nickyanka” sighting at the airport, where they did just that in his-and-hers neutrals. Now, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are the latest stylish duo to embrace the power of twinning. This weekend, the couple attended a benefit for MOCA in Los Angeles, California, in complementary shades of green—and there may be a hidden meaning behind their choice of hue.

Aside from green being a trending shade for spring—neon green especially—the color is one rooted in symbolism. Green is historically associated with life, growth, and wealth, both financial and emotional. These are all fitting qualities for a burgeoning partnership, and seeing how the pair got engaged in February, perhaps their choice of dress was a way to continue embracing those positive vibes. Call it manifesting an ideal future together, through fashion.

To do so, Perry chose a flowy silhouette in emerald silk, with purple jewel detailing at the collar, and a cherry-red clutch for a pop of color. Bloom, on the other hand, decided on a darker hunter green for his slim-cut, three-piece suit in a shiny fabric that acted as a perfect foil to Perry’s gown. He wore it with a white shirt, skinny black tie, and Gucci horsebit loafers. So, while their individual takes varied slightly, their mutual affinity for grassy tones made one thing clear: like green itself, the couple is focusing on all things prosperity. And, it's safe to say, color coordination looks good on them.
