Ah, the good ol’ mom jean. It’s the denim style that won’t die. The high-waisted, straight-cut silhouette from the ’90s has continued to ebb in and out of fashion favor since. Just when you think skinny jeans or flares are coming back, poof! Mom jeans are back. There’s something enduring and classic about the style. But even though it’s a retro fit, it doesn’t have to mean it has to look straight out of the ‘90s. Kaia Gerber stepped out with a fresh styling approach that makes it feel super current, even though her mom rocked the same style 30 years ago.
Gerber’s mom jeans had artful rips in them for a cool finish, and she then styled it with a sweet cropped camisole in white. (Nothing mom about that.) The hint of skin up top gave her jeans a more youthful feel, as did her fresh white sneakers. The best part of her outfit, though? It just may be her adorable new puppy, Milo, that she carried in her arms. Not an accessory, but he definitely makes any outfit 10 times better.
