Black-and-white check prints are having a moment. Yesterday, Blake Lively piled on the contrasting color combination for a show-stealing turn at Marchesa’s New York Fashion Week presentation. But it seems the folksy pattern is picking up speed across the pond as well. Sienna Miller tested the waters on a photo-call for her new film, The Lost City of Z, today in London, stepping out in a breezy gingham peasant dress by Sonia Rykiel.

Miller had already dipped a toe into the trend earlier this week when she carried a Mansur Gavriel tote in a similar check design. And while the actress long ago shed her bohemian-chic ways in favor of a more polished alternative, her latest look checked off both style boxes in one swoop. A twice-wrapped belt gave the billowing silhouette shape, while three-quarter sleeves packed just the right amount of volume. Stacked Charlotte Olympia platforms in suede and gold tied the look together. The takeaway? When it comes to one’s ever-evolving personal style, not everything is black and white.
