Early this morning, the highly anticipated trailer for Jennifer Lopez’s new movie, Hustlers was released. Beyond the oversized hoop earrings and glittering two-piece ensembles worn by the A-list cast, it was hard to miss J.Lo’s jaw-dropping body as she demonstrated the art of pole dancing. While it’s no secret that Lopez is #bodygoals, and has been for decades, the singer's seriously toned midsection is reason enough to give the pole a try.
In the two-minute preview, Lopez and her superstar supporting team (including Cardi B and Lizzo) are involved in a scheme to steal from their Wall Street clients, all the while showing off their hard-earned assets—thanks to their exercise routine at work. Lopez has been vocal about her training for the role of Ramona, sharing her intense 10 day no carb, no sugar detox and weekly workout sessions with a pole dancing expert.
Interest in the dance style seems to be rising all around: Pole dancer Neyon showed off her gravity-defying moves in Solange’s short film earlier this year, while FKA Twigs demonstrated serious athleticism in her own music video. With Hustlers set to release in September, it seems the the pole-dancing craze has only just begun.
