Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have split up and called off their engagement, People reports. The couple, who got engaged in June after just a few weeks of dating, made the mutual decision to end their relationship this weekend. “It was way too much too soon,” a source told People. “It’s not shocking to anyone.” Neither Grande nor Davidson have confirmed the news.

The break-up follows a tough year for Grande. Over the past few weeks, the singer has cancelled her appearances on Saturday Night Live and at a F*ck Cancer benefit gala, sharing that she needs more time to mourn the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, who passed away from an apparent drug overdose at 26 in September. “Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend,” her representative said in a statement about the performance cancellations. “She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding.”

Grande and Davidson first met on SNL in May, and got engaged a few weeks later in June. They had been living together in New York City, and even got matching tattoos to commemorate their relationship, including each other’s names and initials. Grande and Davidson also adopted a pet pig together, named Piggy Smallz. Perhaps the signs of a split were there, though: Last week, Davidson covered up his bunny ears tattoo, the same ears Grande wore on the cover of her album “Dangerous Woman.”
