The 19-year-old star of Sofia Coppola’s new film, The Beguiled, got off to a running start upon her arrival in Nice last week in eye-catching Miu Miu embellished sunglasses, skinny jeans, and a prim blouse. While the moment was a telling indicator of her fashion acumen, the sequence of red carpet dresses she then turned out in (Vivenne Westwood, plunging Gucci, purple Rodarte) was next-level even for Fanning. To cap off her whirlwind Cannes tour, Fanning left La Croisette as fashionably as she first arrived: She caught a plane out of town earlier today wearing a Gucci logo sweatshirt.
The athleisure-esque airport look came embellished with a trompe l’oeil bow at the neck, which read quirky and fun—a vibe that has become her style signature. The glitter-flecked detail also tied in with bedazzled sunglasses in a complementary pink hue and embellished buckle sneakers. A frayed denim skirt was an appealingly casual foil to all that sparkle, while Miu Miu’s patchwork denim tote tied it all together. A first-class finish, indeed.
