Kacey Musgraves Welcomed All the Celebs to Her Met Gala After-Party at The Top of the Standard
After Justin Bieber’s surprise and masked performance at the Met Gala, all the guests hied downtown to the Top of the Standard Hotel, the location of what is unofficially the after-party of the night.
The host of the night was Kacey Musgraves, who did a quick change into something slinky and sparkly from her equestrian-themed Ralph Lauren worn at the gala, and she was in fine form. (And it’s been a busy week for her—a new album release and a performance at Sunday’s VMA’s!)
At just around midnight, a crew including Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish, Ben Platt, Barbie Ferreira, Finneas O’Connell, Timothée Chalamet, Brooklyn Beckham, Camila Cabello, Cara Delevingne, Ciara, Emily Blunt, Olivia Rodrigo, and Maluma assembled at the Top of the Standard. Oscar de la Renta’s Fernando Garcia was side-by-side with Eilish (who he dressed for the night) and Beckham was not shy, showering affection upon Nicola Peltz. Elsewhere, Chalamet floated around in his white Haider Ackermann, chatting it up with fellow actor Julia Garner.
And as this was a celebration of young American designers, of course, they circulated the party, most often with a very well dressed girl or guy on their arm—Batsheva, Zac Posen, Wes Gordon, Jonathan Simkhai, Prabal Gurung, Jeremy Scott, and more. The mood was optimistic, the views were hard not to get swept up in, and the night represented so much more than a party. Had the Met Gala just happened? After a year plus of dressing for the living room? Indeed it had.
The venue’s famed burgers and fries then made the rounds, toted around by handsome staff, who also dolled out 818 tequila cocktails. After a burger and a bite, the crowd, newly energized, plotted their next move. For many, it was just stop one of the night, after all. Because after the party, there’s never just one after-party.
