Diana Ross is no stranger to the AMAs red carpet. From the sparkly gold dress she wore at the 1984 edition alongside Michael Jackson—dressed in his iconic sequined military jacket--to the more demure, yet equally stunning black gown that she wore the following year, Ross has consistently attended the ceremony in unforgettable style.

But this year, she's managed to one-up herself even more. Channeling her all-black 1985 AMAs outfit, Ross wore a crinkled midnight blue floor-length strapless Vivienne Westwood dress from the Fall 2017 collection that she cinched at the waist with a wide belt. She finished off the look with a massive feathery head ornament, befitting for the true queen of the ceremony, as the Supremes singer is both performing and receiving the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. While this year's ceremony is certainly a family affair—Diana's daughter, actress Tracee Ellis Ross is hosting—Diana proved that she's the ultimate eccentric matriarch.
